Jack Pinder , now aged 90
The article traces Jacks war record / Flight Sergeant Pinder was a wireless operator/gunner in the winter of 1941 .
For his efforts to rescue the observer who was trapped in the plane which crashed into the sea , he was mentioned in dispatches , his citation saying ‘Although SGt Pinderknew the aircraft was sinking he assisted the pilot in extricating the trapped crew member .During the whole episode Sgt Pinders morale was an example to all ”
